Disney Dining & Experiences.

My personal reviews/opinions based on different Disney dining to help you decide where to reserve meals for your next trip!

Topolinos Breakfast (Riviera Resort) *Character Dining at breakfast only

  • Topolinos Terrace (Breakfast)

This is my absolute favorite breakfast spot in Disney World hands down along with my favorite character dining experience. If you are looking for a beautiful place to enjoy a delicious breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy, then this is a perfect spot!

*You do not have to stay at this resort to eat here!

  • Starter

Starting your breakfast off with some baked goods and dipping sauces. Little croissants and mini muffins. The chocolate sauce is delicious. My kids really enjoy the muffins but the breakfast to come is so good, don’t fill up on this!

  • French Toast Brûlée

I will admit that the primary reason I have been to this restaurant multiple times is because of this entree. I had this for the first time and was dying over how delicious this was. I cannot compare this to anything I have ever had in the past but I thought it was worth every bite.

  • Side Option - Quiche Gruyere

With your entree you can select one side option. I am a personal fan of quiche and this one has house made Pancetta, Tomatoes, Greens and a lemon vinaigrette. Very good option if you are a fan of quiche!

  • Side Option - Avocado Toast

If you enjoy avocado toast, this is a must. This is now my common pick as my side. Absolutely delicious!

  • Kids Entree - Waffle Dippers

The concept behind these alone is so cute. The theme of this restaurant is of course artsy. My son has said twice this is his favorite spot for breakfast in Disney and he can be very picky. He loves the waffles and the dipping sauce. 10/10 for the delivery of this.

  • Mickey Mouse

  • Minnie Mouse

  • Daisey!

  • Donald!

Roundup Rodeo BBQ - Hollywood Studios

  • Family Style Dining

If you are a big Toy Story Fan, this is a must do restaurant for the experience. I have read mixed reviews online about this dining experience but I have been here twice and thought it was great both times. I love Family Style dining, there is a lot of food and I personally like the food selection on this menu.

Pay attention to the pricing, this one is a bit expensive!

  • To Start

I am a HUGE fan of the Cheddar Biscuits and the sweet pepper jelly. My kids were not, but more for me. They were delicious. You also receive watermelon, a salad and a tomato salad. All are mediocre, and there is so much food to eat so do not fill up on this.

  • The Meat

You will receive a platter for the table including ribs, brisket, sausage, and bbq chicken. (There are plant based options here!)

You can ask for more of what you like as well! I thought the meat was good, nothing over the top fantastic but definitely good.

  • Side Options

You can select 4 side options for the table.

    1. Slinky Dog Mac & Cheese is great if your kids love Mac and cheese. It is not overly flavorful but not bad!

    2. The Married Spuds (Potato Barrels) they are exactly what they are so if you are a fan of tots, then you will be happy.

  • Side Option

Grilled street corn is my personal favorite side. I love love love this side because I am a huge fan of street corn and corn on the cob.

  • Side Option

Fried Pickles which I also very much enjoy. If you like fried pickles, you will enjoy these.

  • Dessert

The Forky Cupcake was a must do because it is Forky and cute. It is a very yummy cupcake and perfect for the kids.

  • Dessert

My personal favorite dessert is apple pie so if you enjoy apple pie, you will enjoy this.

  • Dessert

    Chocolate silk pie- delicious!

  • The Theme

Honestly the theming here is just unbelievable which is really why if you are a fan of Toy Story, you will love this spot. It is a heavy meal, so plan accordingly! I usually try to get the first reservation earlier in the afternoon so that I am hungry and then I am not TOO full going back into the park because I skipped breakfast or had something light. To each their own but prepare! The food is good, I don’t agree with a lot of the reviews I have seen since I have been here more than once. The toys do come over the loud speaker and talk and often will yell “Andy’s coming” so everyone has to go completely STILL. It is so cute, and it is fun!

Chef Mickeys- Contemporary Resort

  • Overall Experience

This was my personal favorite character dining experience. Worth the price? YES.

Was the only character dining I did not feel rushed at.

Keep in mind you can ask for more of something you like!

*You do not have to stay at the Contemporary resort to make dining reservations here!

Characters- Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto.

  • Starter

This dining experience used to be a buffet style. Since reopening, the experience is now family style which I did not mind at all. Our server brought out rolls with a light glaze as well as these little donuts. The donut balls definitely could have used some icing because they were pretty dry. The starter definitely looked better than it tasted.

  • YUM

    Apple Cider Mimosa?!

I have never even heard of this but when I saw it on the menu I had to give it a try and boy am I glad I did! 10/10 with cinnamon on the rim and an apple slice. Delicious.

  • Breakfast

Mickey waffles (of course) mixed with scrambled eggs, pork and chicken sausage, bacon and a few slices of a beef brisket. Was this the most delicious meal I have had? No. But was it good? Yes! Was it worth the price? For the overall experience, yes.

  • On the Side

These cheesy hash browns were super yummy! Probably my favorite food item at this breakfast.

  • On the Side

Banana French Toast- eh, this could have been better. It was not bad, it was very light but it was only okay!

  • For the Kids

Mickey pancake of course! Was light and yummy!

  • My Favorite Part

Cinderella’s Royal Table

  • Located inside Cinderella's Castle

This meal requires prepayment at the time of reservation!

    Great experience for families.

    The food was surprisingly DELICIOUS.

  • Appetizer

Everyone (including children) start with an appetizer. I selected this tomato salad that was…interesting. I truly did not care for it but I can see how others might like it.

  • Appetizer #2

My daughter is considered an ’adult’ when dining at Disney so she selected a different app so that we could experience more than one and share. She went for the cheese which is actually plant based. It was unexpectedly super yummy and I definitely would get this again.

*Our amazing waiter brought us grapes just in case we didn’t like the cheese as well!

  • Dinner

The beef tenderloin was absolutely amazing. I was very impressed with this meal. The beef was perfectly tender, the flavor of the sauce drizzled on top complemented everything so well. This was the best meal I had in Disney World (aside from Hollywood & Vine but that is a different review!) I had low expectations for the meal itself since I booked this more for the experience and I was thrilled with how wonderful it was.

  • Dessert

The clock strikes twelve dessert mousse was outstanding. I was a little mad at myself for finishing my dinner because I was so full but this dessert was so yummy that I wanted to finish all of it. Everything in this picture was chocolate. Again, I was pleasantly surprised.

  • Cinderella

Prior to Disney’s closure, this character dining included all princesses. Currently, only Cinderella comes out to say hello. Since she is my favorite princess, I was fine with that! But be sure to have this expectation for this meal, at least for now. She came out 4 times during our meal. She does not go to each table for a picture but she does walk around where she comes out and waves and tries to interact around the restaurant. If you are seated towards the front of the restaurant where you walk in, you will interact more with Cinderella. If you are seated towards the windows, you have an amazing view of MK but you have less interaction with Cinderella.

  • Autograph

Although no characters are currently signing autograph books, you do get a card with an autograph. We also received a wand and sword souvenir as well as a wishing star souvenir.

  • Overall Experience

I have always wanted an excuse to be in Cinderella’s Castle so this was a must do for me and my family. If this is something you also desire, this is a great experience that I absolutely recommend. The food was amazing, the view to MK was spectacular and the restaurant itself was beautiful. Will I do this meal again? Maybe one day. For me, I feel as though it was a bucket list item so although the meal was great, this may be a one and done!

Hollywood & Vine (Halloween)

  • Hollywood & Vine (Halloween)

I really loved this restaurant for a character dining experience at Hollywood Studios. This is still one of my most recommended character dining meals!

Characters - Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & Pluto in their Halloween costumes!

  • Mac & Cheese

This Mac and Cheese comes with bacon and shrimp on top. (I do not like shrimp so I excluded that!) but OH wow this was DELICIOUS. The flavors were incredible the macaroni was perfect, the breading on top was great and the bacon was perfect. Yum x1000 - this was my favorite!

  • Pork

My husband is the type that will ask the server what their preference/favorite thing is or what do they recommend? He almost ordered the beef tenderloin, but that is almost everywhere at Disney so I encouraged him to try something different, the pork, which is what the server did recommend. They said it had a bit of a kick…it was not spicy but the flavor of the sauce drizzled on top gave this meal a tiny little kick. The pork was perfect, I was pleasantly surprised by this and I HIGHLY recommend this one.

  • S'mores Dessert

I am a big s’mores fan and if I see it on any menu it is my go to. WOW was this dessert unreal. The marshmallow on top was so good and the crackers were chocolate and delicious. This was my favorite favorite dessert with any meal at Disney World.

  • Cheese Cake

This was simple yet super yummy.

  • Shortcake

Our server was so incredible that he brought out HIS favorite dessert just so that we could try it. The service I had at this restaurant in addition to the yummy food was also a primary reason I loved it and will be going back.

  • Mickey Mouse

These characters also did not rush you. I felt less rushed at Chef Mickey and I preferred that the kids could stand in front of the characters at Chef Mickey rather than having to take pictures at a table, but I still enjoyed the meets!

  • Minnie Mouse

I really loved that the characters were in their costumes for this meal!

  • Goofy!

The characters came out often about 3 times during our meal!

  • Pluto!

Overall experience was a 10/10. If you are looking for a great meal along with a great character dining experience, this is one I would 100% recommend. The service was impeccable, the food was all 10/10 and the overall experience was perfect!

50’s Prime Time Cafe

  • Lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe

Important to note what type of experience this is up front. The theme is like walking into a restaurant in the 50s which is super fun. But keep in mind you are supposed to be walking into a kitchen where manners and finishing your meal is key. Therefore, the servers are going to get on you for not setting the table, not keeping your elbows off the table, etc. If you are not up for the fun of this-I don’t recommend.

  • Unique Experience

I have always heard this was a good meal and fun experience so I have always wanted to try dining here. I really loved the ambiance but I also am a big fan of the 50’s. I have to admit that I was a little unimpressed by the meal itself though.

  • Lunch

I love fried chicken, so I was excited for this meal. It was okay. It was NOT bad, do not get me wrong. I was expecting it to be better though, a little more flavorful. My husband ordered the Beef Tenderloin (not pictured) and he was not a fan. He loved the Tenderloin at CRT and Hollywood & Vine though. My mother ordered the meatloaf and she thought that was incredible.

  • Dessert

A cute Mickey cupcake, which had a chocolate Mickey Mouse on top.

  • Overall Experience

I thought overall this was really cute, and I really liked the atmosphere. I wish the meal was a bit better and I think for the cost I would’ve preferred an actual character dining experience because this was a little pricey!
